A
great summer in a great place
Summer sports in Tirol
Tirol's five glacier regions
make it a true eldorado for ski and snowboard enthusiasts who
think the winter's never long enough. One example is Andre
Arnold, the world's most successful professional skier, who runs
a racing, sport and retreat camp in the Oetztal Arena. The
emphasis is on skiing and snowboarding, with the latest models
of skis, ski boots, bindings and snowboards available for test
runs. Mountain biking, tennis and rafting complete the programme.
The Club Zillertal in Tirol's
Ziller Valley offers a mountain sport and adventure programme
that takes guests through local mountains and gorges. Activities
include rafting, rappelling, adventure hikes and an
unforgettable day on the Tuxer Glacier. Guests can also explore
the valley on a mountain bike tour or a tandem paraglider
flight.Conditions for rafting are ideal in the gorge at Imst or
on one of several other rivers in Tirol. The many activities
available include day excursions on land or water, a white water
safari, and canyon trips - all of them with professional guides
of course.
At the High and Fun Club in
Galtuer, guests can earn a special pilots license in paragliding
or take a tandem paragliding course.
For the slightly less
adventurous, the Dolomiten Aktiv Club in Almach offers scenic
flights in small aircraft. Early birds should try the sunrise
flight, which includes breakfast on a mountain peak. There's
also plenty of opportunity for guests to enjoy rafting,
paragliding, golf, archery, and hiking in the Dolomites.
